Business process–
FCH8 and FCH9 are often confused with each other FCH9( this guide) is about voiding the check only. It does not cancel the payment.
This is used, e.g. if, you paid the Vendor and he lost the check, and you need to void that and mail a new one.

Enter the information of the check you are canceling.
1- Paying company code– This is the company code that issued the payment. This might be different from the company code on which the invoice was created.
2-House Bank– Enter the House bank from where the check was issued.
3-Account ID– Enter the Account ID. If we you are not sure of this info. Enter the check details
4-Check number– Enter the check number that has to be reversed. Make sure to enter leading zeroes if required.
5-Void Reason Code– The reason why we are voiding this check

You can do a drop down to get the list of void reason codes.

Once you enter all the information, click on the void button located at the top left of the screen.

You will get a message stating that the check has been voided, but the payment document has not been reversed.
If you wanted to reverse the payment document as well, then you should have used tcode FCH8

Once the check is voided, you can reissue a check using FCH5.

Enter the information of the check you are canceling.

2- Paying company code– This is the company code that issued the payment. This might be different from the company code on which the invoice was created.
3-Fiscal Year– Enter the Fiscal Year for the payment document number
4-House Bank– Enter the House bank from where the check was issued.
5-Account ID– Enter the Account ID. If we you are not sure of this info. Enter the check details
6-Check number– Enter the check number that has to be reversed. Make sure to enter leading zeroes if required.

Click on Enter and enter the following details on the next screen.
1-Payment Date
2- Currency
3-Amount Paid
4- Cash discount if applicable a
