This guide goes over the year end closing steps of Asset Accounting.
Overview of AJAB Asset year end close– You use the year-end closing program to close the fiscal year for one or more company codes from an accounting perspective.
Once the fiscal year is closed, you can no longer post or change values within Asset Accounting (for example, by recalculating depreciation).
The fiscal year in Asset Accounting that is closed is always the year following the last closed fiscal year in Asset Accounting.
You can not close the current fiscal year until all depreciation values have been posted.
AJRW- Carries the Asset balances to the next year.
OAAQ- Undo entire company code closing
AJRW and AJAB are part of the year end steps for asset accounting.
These need to be carried out when you want to open the next year and close the preivous year.
You will get an error like abovewhen you try to post to the next year.
If you double click on the error you will see the details.

We are getting the error that “Depreciation not posted completely”
You cannot close a year if depreciation hasn’t been posted completely.
Run AFAB and post depreciation for the missing months.
Enter all the info to run AFAB. This is in a test system so I am running unplanned depreciation for p12, rather than posting depreciation for each month.
P12 has already been posted, so that means I have to do a repeat run.
Since there are no errors.
Run it in the background.
Click ok and yes
Once this is done, go back to closing the year
There’s no error
You will need to run it in the background, else you will get an error like below.
