F-90 Overview- This tcode is used to purchase an asset directly. This allows for the asset to be capitalized on purchase.
This is very rare. Usually, the asset purchase goes through the PO process and the asset shell is created first and then the values are added to it.
E.g. if you are purchasing a car that is immediately written on to the books to start depreciation, you would use F-90.
Use the menu path
Accounting->Financial Accounting->FixedAssets->Posting\Acquisition\External Acquisition\with Vendor
or directly through the tcode
F-90
1- Enter the
document date- This is the invoice date, the date when the asset was purchased

The posting date- The date that this hits the accounting books.
3- Enter the
doc type
4- Enter any
reference- This can be the invoice number from the vendor.

Doc. Header Text- Enter any other info that helps you identify the purchase.
on the bottom half of the screen above, enter the following-

posting key 31 for credit vendor and enter the

vendor number
hit enter and move to the next screen
Enter the posting key 70, amount and the asset number and
transction type.
Note- The asset shell should have already been
created using As01
Once all the info is entered, you can click on save
You have now finished the steps for purchasing an asset from a vendor.
You should see this transaction refelct in the
asset master and you should also see an open item in
FBL1N for the vendor master
