Overview- You created a fixed asset using
As01 or As91.
You need to make edits to the asset.
Use the menu Path
Accounting -> Financial Accounting -> Fixed Assets -> Asset -> Create
or use the tcode
As02
Enter the asset that you want to change along with the company code
Change the values of any of fields on this screen.
If you want to change a value, but the field is grayed out, then you will need to bring this up with your IT team.
The
screenlayout rule may have this field set to display.
Click on the
Time dependent tab and change the cost center or any other info.
Similiarly, click on the tab on which the field you want is located. If you are not sure, then you can click on all the tabs until you find the field.

If the changes need to be made in mass, then consider using LSMW to make changes to many assets.
Click on save once you are done and SAP will confirm that the asset has been changed.
How to find changes made to an asset-
Once the asset is changed you can click on environment- change documents- on asset or on field to find the list of fields that were changed.
A lot of times there are issues and we would like to know who made the change or we might be facing a new issue and did not face is last month.
The issue might be due to a change we made.
This will tell us who/what changed on the asset.
You can click on enironment- Screen Layout to see which screen layout is used with this asset.
Select the screen layout and click on logical field groups.
This has the different sections like general data, posting info etc.
Select the item from the right and click on the field group rules to see if a field is set to display, change or suppress.
