AS06- Delete an asset- Use this guide of you want to delete an asset. This can be required if you set it up the asset in the wrong asset class or no longer need it.
Note- You can only delete those assets for which the asset value is zero or for which no postings have been made in the system.
Use the menu path
Accounting >> Financial Accounting >> Fixed Assets >> Asset >> Delete >> AS06 – Asset
Or directly do it through the tcode AS06
If the asset has value, you wil get an error message “Deleting is not possible, The asset already has values”
If the asset has no postings, then you can go to As06 and select the option of physically delete the asset.
If you just want to block the asset, then use AS05
Once this is done, click on save
Click on yes when you get a popup
You will get a confirmation that the asset has been deleted
if you go to AS03 to display the asset you will not find anything.
